and 94 at the Farmstead Golf and Country Club, Indian Lake captured the Hub Lakes Men's Golf Championship on Sunday,
July 15. Fred Hyatt carded the low 18-hole round of 79 for the winners while Josh Cacella chipped in with an 80. |
| Indian Lake, which had finished in the runnerup slot for
the last two years, supplanted two-time defending champion Cedar Lake which placed third, three strokes behind
second place Raingow Lakes. |
| Indian Lake's Hyatt uncorked a booming blast of 307 yards
on the eighth hole of the Clubview Course to win the longest drive prize for the second straight year. Cedar Lake's
Brian Blaber dropped his tee shot on the par-3, ninth holeof the Lakeview Course, within nine feet, of the cup
to pick up the closest to the pin award. |

| Rainbow Lakes' Alexis Gardner captured the individual title
in the 2007 Hub Lakes Women's Golf Tournament contested Thursday morning at the Farmstead Golf and Country Club
while Mountain Lakes repeated as team champions. Ida McGrath of runnerup Rainbow Lakes carded a round of 91 over
the Club and Lake courses while Nancy McGavin of Indian Lake, who shared last year's title with Gardner, placed
third with a 92. Barbara Bertschy shot a 93 for the second straight year as she posted the top round on the champions
while teammate Iris Smith finished fifth a 94. Carol Kennedy added a round of 98 to the Lakers' team title and
Rainbow Lakes' KIm Doiglas was seventh, posting a card of 99. |
| It was the second straight title for the Lakers who finished
second in 2005 after winning in 2004. Gardner continued to dominate the Hub Lakes Women’s Golf competition as she
four-peated as the individual champion after carding an 82 a year ago. |
| Gardner picked up the closest to the pin prize when her
tee shot on the ninth hole of the Lake course stopped 4 feet, 1 inch from the cup. Capturing the closest to the
line award was Tammy Large of Indian Lake whose drive off the fourth tee on the Club course landed 3 feet, 3 inches
from the line. |
