| As we approach the start of the Hub Lakes 2003 season, I would like to thank
everybody who volunteers of their time to make this League great. I would like to thank the members of thge Board
for giving of their time all year long. I would like to thank the Sports Chair People who keep the individual activities
rolling along. I would like to thank the lake contacts for each sport for their diligence in making sure teams
show up at a particular time every week so the games can take place. And last of all, I would like to thank the
participants, both young and old, for postponing their vacations till late August when the Hub Lakes season is
over. That kind of dedication is what makes this League great. |
| However, Hub Lakes is facing some very tough challenges. This is a non-profit
organization that is dependent of family boosters and advertisements in our booklet to help us cover our financial
obligations. Last year, I requested that each family sponsor a booster in our booklet and many of you came through
and I thank you for that. But our goal is to try to get every family to support a booster. When you think of the
fin and the recreation that Hub Lakes provides, $15 is not a lot to spend. |
| We are faced with the challenge of trying to fill some key positions on
the Board. Without filling these positions, some key services that, was a League used to provide, may be cut in
the future. So, if you see Susan Elko or me at one of the games or swim meets and you are interested, don't hesitate
to ask about helping out. |
