Welcome to 2002's Hub Lakes League
|
| It just seems like yesterday that we were pasing out the awards at the annual
Hub Lakes' Dinner and already another season is upon us. We look for another great year of Hub Lakes' activities
between member lakes. We hope all participants, young and old, have a great time time. |
| I look forward to working with the current officers, Sue Elko, Vice President
of Operations, Dale Trella, Vice President of Administration, Larry Plumb, Treasurer, Joanne Browning, Recording
Secretary, Chris Jackson, Corresponding Secretary and Noreen Baruti, Trophy Chairperson. |
| I would ask the members of all lakes to remember that this is a volunteer
program and we are always looking for people to step up and take responsibility to help us. We also ask that each
family that participates in the various activities become a booster in the Hub Lakes Booklet that comes out each
spring. Also, thank you to the individual activitty Chair People who are the true backbones of this organization. |
| As you look through this booklet, you will see many rule changes for the
various activities. Many people worked hard to institute these changes for a smoother season. Let's all have fun.
Thank you! |

Michelle Van Winkle will not soon forget her debut in the Hub Lakes Women's
Softball League. In her first plate appearance, Van Winkle blasted a grand-slam homer to power Rock Ridge to a
27-4 rout of Mountain Lakes on opening day.
Barb DeLuna and Barb Maday led the Ridgers' 24-hit attack as both went 4 for 5 for the night. Fran McEnteer went
the route to pick up the win.
Defending champion White Meadow opened the 2002 campaign with an 8-4 victory over Indian Lake. Sharon Hogrelius
went the distance, turning in a strong mound effort with support from a solid defense.
Cedar Lakes was driven to an 8-3 victory over Rainbow Lakes by the powerful one-two punch of the Eggert's mother-daughter
combo of Lynn and Cory who both homered. Kim McGinley picked up the victory in a route-going effort. |
