Powering the Indian attack at the plate Mike Reeves who went 4 for 4, scoring four times, Dan Cacella who was a perfect 2 for 2 with a homer and Randy Reeves who was 2 for 2, knocking in three runs. Reeves went the distance on the mound, hurling a three-hitter and walking none.

Indian Lake reached the finals with a 10-1 rout of Cedar Lake as Indian scored six runs in the first inning. Randy Reeves walked, Dunbar legged out a two-bagger, Peter Reich singled and Josh Cacella doubled and scored on a wild pitch. Indian tallied two in the third and in the fourth Mike Weldon connected for a single that plated two runs. Mountain Lakes rebounds to win women's golf title

Mountain Lakes, which had a string of five straight titles snapped by White Meadow Lake in 1999, pulled away from the field to win the first championship of the new millennium by 17 strokes over runnerup Estling. The defending champions from White Meadow finished third, trailing Mountain Lakes by 54 strokes.
Alexis Gardner of Rainbow, who claimed individual low honors from 1995 until Jean Costello of White Meadow won last year's event, returned to the winner's circle when she carded an 18-hole round of 85. Barbara Bertschy of Mountain Lakes, who tied for low honors in 1994, occupied the runnerup slot with a 91 while her teammate Iris Smith placed third with a 93. Tied for fourth with 101s were the Estling duo of Kay Bischoff and Dot Zaleski.
Gardner picked up a gift certificate provided by the Farmstead Golf & Country Club when she won the closest to the pin contest. Rock Ridge's Marilyn Terhune earned a gift cerificate when she claimed victory in the closest to the pin competition.
